Do we have your email address and phone number?
This year we are making every effort to go paperless with as much of our school communication as possible. One of the things we have cut out is the printed Monthly Newsletter - we now send weekly emails that highlight things happening at Knowles as well as upcoming events. We also use the call out system for important information. PLEASE MAKE SURE WE HAVE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER! If you have not been receiving weekly emails, it means we don't have your information in our system. Call Mrs. Magnussen our Registrar to get your information updated so you know what's going on!

PAY IT FORWARD PROJECT 2014
On Wednesday, March 26th, each student and staff member at Knowles Elementary received a Pay It Forward card. Each person is encouraged to complete one random act of kindness for another person during the months of March and April. The act of kindness needs to be completed somewhere other than at Knowles as we are hoping to spread kindness to many others throughout our community, state, country and world.
When the act of kindness is completed, the Pay It Forward card will be given to the person that RECEIVED the kindness. The card asks the person to notify the school, telling about the kind act that was received. The card also asks the person to Pay It Forward by completing an act of kindness for someone else and passing the card along.
Each card has a code so we can track the responses we receive. We can't wait to see how far the kindness will spread!!!

Notice to Leander I.S.D. Parents and Students Examination for Acceleration, Grades 1-12
Examination for Acceleration allows students, who without direct instruction have already mastered all content and skills in a particular grade level or course, to advance to the next level or course. These exams are available at no cost to eligible students who test during the district’s testing periods.
Students are expected to complete each exam they have registered for, therefore we ask you to be available during the testing window you have selected. A letter will be mailed home approximately 3 weeks after application due date for each testing period and the final schedule has been set. Note: The District does not receive reimbursement for tests not taken.
2014 testing dates are as follows:
June 11-13, 2014, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, RBMS;
July 15-17, 2014, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, RBMS.
Students will complete an application form and take a designated criterion referenced test which covers the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and major learning for the course for which they wish credit. For all of its Examination for Acceleration, the district uses tests developed by the University of Texas Extension, Instruction, and Materials Center. For Grades 1-12, UT provides review sheets in a free online printable format, available even before students are enrolled. Information can be found online at UT Distance Education Center website (http://www.utexas.edu/ce/k16/cbe-ea/about/). Students should contact the campus counselor for applications and additional information.
11 al 13 de Junio de 2014, 8:30 a.m. a 3:30 p.m., RBMS;
